On the Explore page we include four columns that show the payer mix for each provider listed in the table. There are four payers that we include in this mix because they represent the vast majority of medical payments.

• Medicare
• Commercial
• Medicare Advantage

  This section of the table provides a just-about-instant understanding of payer alignment for the listed physicians.

Why don't the percentages add up?

If you look at the image below, you will notice that the payer mix in the box doesn't add up to 100%

The four payer types that are included in our metrics represent the vast majority of claims. However, there is an "other" catch all category that we don't show. The payers in this "other" category include unknown payers, worker's compensation, state payments, cash, union payments, and others.
